Angle Health
San Francisco, CA
Growth Round
AI-native health insurance
2022
6× return · $134M round size · Palantir founding team
Angle Health is an AI-native InsurTech platform founded by Ty Wang and a team of Palantir alumni. Angle provides employer health insurance that combines AI-powered claims processing, real-time member support, and transparent pricing, built from the ground up for companies that expect technology to work the way their other software does. Angle Health raised a $134M Series B round co-led by Mighty Capital alongside institutional investors.
The Palantir alumni founding team was a signal our network recognized immediately: people who had built mission-critical data infrastructure at scale, applying that discipline to an industry (health insurance) where product thinking had been almost entirely absent. Our CPO network flagged the company before it had significant public profile.
Palantir alumni team with deep experience in data-intensive enterprise systems, recognized by our network as the right pedigree for rebuilding insurance infrastructure from first principles
AI-native claims processing showing dramatically faster resolution times than incumbent carriers, which is a product signal visible to practitioners before it appeared in financial metrics
CPOs and HR leaders in our network actively seeking modern insurance alternatives for tech-forward workforces: Angle surfaced as the product they wanted before it was widely available
The business model required strategic reinsurance relationships to scale, an area where our network of financial services and InsurTech product leaders had direct visibility and relationships
Mighty Capital’s most significant contribution to Angle Health was not the capital, it was the reinsurance relationship. Brokering the reinsurance partnership that became a critical growth accelerator for the business required direct relationships with decision-makers inside major reinsurance and financial services organizations, relationships that Mighty Capital had cultivated through years of CPO network engagement.
Without the reinsurance relationship, the Angle business model could not scale. With it, the company had the structural foundation for the $134M round and the growth phase that followed. This is the closed loop in operation: our network enables the partnerships that make the fundraising possible, and the fundraising enables the product that validates the network.
Mighty Capital co-led the $134M round alongside institutional co-investors, demonstrating the firm’s competitive positioning at rounds that attract multi-billion dollar funds.
